Why Eco Nepal Trekkers?
Our company constantly works on the principle of fair payment. We provide fair payment towards our porters and guides. Furthermore, even though we have been established for 2 years, our combined experience in the Himalayas exceeds 16 years.
Additionally, we also provide a tailored experience. In fact, each and every one of our treks will be customised.
As soon as you contact us, we prepare the itinerary that matches your profile because we believe everyone has the right to explore himalayas in their own manner.
Our Vision
As a company, we collaboratively work towards making the travel experience that preserves the unique nature of Nepal.
We aim to reach travellers and tell them stories about the unexplored regions of Nepal.
In fact, in 10 years, we want to make Nepal a global destination for tourists. And with time, we will achieve that goal.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to make trekking in Nepal safe, meaningful, and accessible for every traveller, whether it’s their first Himalayan adventure or their tenth.
We focus on three core commitments.
First, we want every traveller to feel supported from the moment they contact us. This means clear communication, honest advice, and itineraries that match their pace, comfort level, and expectations.
Second, we work hard to raise the standards of safety in the mountains. From licensed guides and trained porters to proper equipment, altitude planning, and risk management, we follow a system that puts your well-being at the centre of everything.
Finally, we believe tourism should uplift the communities that live in the Himalayas. This includes fair wages, equal opportunities, environmentally responsible choices, and working closely with local people who carry generations of mountain knowledge.
Our Story
The heart behind Eco Nepal Trekkers begins with our founder, Pemba Tamang. Born in the small village of Kavre, Pemba grew up surrounded by people who lived their lives on the Himalayan trails. More than half of his village worked as guides or porters.
In 2009, Pemba finally got the chance to become a porter himself. He accepted it without a second thought. His very first journey took him to Everest Base Camp, carrying heavy loads while witnessing the real Himalayan world up close. That first trek changed him.
He didn’t just see mountains; he experienced the heart of the Sherpa community.
Inspired, Pemba continued working as a porter for the next five years. During this time, he travelled across different regions, learning about Lama, Tamang, Gurung, and Magar cultures. He even picked up their local dialects, something few guides manage to do.
In 2014, after years of hard work, Pemba finally earned his professional guide license.
With over 16 years of experience behind him, Pemba built a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable and caring guides.
But during these years, he also saw the difficult side of the trekking industry.
He saw porters receiving unfair pay.
He saw working conditions that didn’t reflect the beauty of the mountains.
He saw local stories slowly disappearing.
And most of all, he saw the Himalayas losing their purity to pollution.
That became his turning point.
Pemba decided that instead of being a part of the system, he would change it. He opened Eco Nepal Trekkers with a simple promise:
fair pay, safe working conditions, cultural preservation, and responsible trekking that protects the Himalayas.
Today, Eco Nepal Trekkers carries the same vision Pemba started with:
to guide travellers respectfully, to uplift local communities, and to protect the mountains that shaped his life.
