Ghorepani Poonhill Trek – 10 Days Overview

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is known for being one of the easiest and one of the most famous trek routes of Nepal. The trek starts from Pokhara to Poon Hill, which is our main destination. The total days of this trek are from 4 to 5 days of straight trekking each day, with spending the night in the homestays.

This trek is best suited for all kinds of trekkers due to its easy and well-managed routes. In this trek, we pass through the beautiful paths filled with rhododendrons, beautiful green valleys, ponds, lakes, and breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and mountain ranges.

The most suitable season to start this trek might be in the spring season because, in the spring season, we can witness the different flowers and plants along the trekking routes. This season we can see a clear view of mountains and mountain ranges.

After reaching the poon hill, we can see the beautiful rays of the sun starting to highlight the snowy mountains and witness one of the most beautiful sunrises in the world. After finishing the sightseeing at Poon Hill, our next destination will be trekking to Tadapani. On the way to Tadapani, the road is filled with beautiful aromas of rhododendrons and other eye-catching, colourful flowers and green valleys.

After reaching the Tadapani, we spent the night there at a trekking lodge where they offer good hospitality towards guests and good food for them. All the lounges and guest houses are modern and well-facilitated. They offer good food, a good source of water, and a clean environment,
and wifi as well.

The next morning, we start our journey from Tadapani to reach Jhinu Danda. Before we reach Jhinu Danda, we pass through the village called Chhomrong. On our way to Jhinu Janda, we can see lots of hot springs, and the trekkers can enjoy the hot springs. After reaching Jhinu Danda, we spend the night there and get prepared for the next day.

The next day, we start our journey from Jhinu Danda to reach Shiwa Ghandruk Phedi. This will be the last destination of our trek, and after reaching Siwa Ghandruk Phedi, we will take a bus to Pokhara, and our trek officially ends there. Altogether, the trek lasts for 4 to 5 days, and we can
see all sorts of memorable things which are going to last for your life. Beautiful scenery of mountains, lakes, hills, snow-covered mountains and mountain ranges, and beautiful sunrise.

Ghorepani poon hill trek is one of the most beautiful and easiest trek routes in Nepal. While being the easiest trekking route, this trek is not going to disappoint due to its beautiful scenery, people, culture, and much more.

Useful Information

Best Time to Visit Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

The most suitable seasons for Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May).

These two seasons offer ideal weather conditions. The key highlights of those seasons in Nepal include a pleasant environment, blue skies, warm temperatures, crystal clear mountains, vibrant visibility, no snowfall, and fewer chances of rainfall.

However, if you go on a walk in the winter or during the monsoon season, you may not encounter the conditions described above. The monsoon season produces heavy rains, while winter is chilly and snowy in Nepal.

Since Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is not a high-altitude trip, it can be done at any time of year.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Difficulty

It is thought that the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a moderate trip with a tolerable degree of difficulty. There are no technical climbing skills necessary because the track is well-established. Both expert trekkers and newcomers with an acceptable fitness level can complete it.

There are some stretches of stone stairs during the journey that gradually ascend and descend, especially near the Ulleri village. Altitude sickness is less likely because the elevation gain is gradual. But it’s always crucial to keep your breathing even and drink plenty of water.

The walk usually lasts a week, allowing for a leisurely pace and sufficient acclimatization. The tea houses along the road offer simple but adequate lodging and food.

The trail’s uneven topography and a few steep sections can sometimes make it difficult, but overall, it’s not too rough. With the proper preparation, including physical fitness training and acclimatization, the majority of trekkers can successfully finish the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek.

Best local trekking company in Nepal!! An increadible journey!..and the Best local company in Nepal. I did the EBC + Chola Pass + Gokyo Lakes. Pemba (owner) customised my trip and took care of everything! I had a great guide Prayash who really helped me through the trek and gave me lots of knowlege and stories of the Everest region. I have been to mountains of Europe/USA/ NZ but the raw beaty of the Himalayas is something special. The physical challenge of altitude, the tea houses, high bridge crossings, Sherpa culture and all the fellow trekkers and climbers make this trip so unique. It has been a highlight of my life and i was fortunate to go with a local company who are genuinely passionate about sharing the Himalayas with you. Also at end of trek they organised sightseeing tours. I was also able to contribute to the companies charity in a small way some by donating some stationary and sports equipment to a mountain school. If you are going to Nepal i would highly recommend Pemba and his team of guides. I will be back! Namastae

Amazing trip - great local company. Everything was organised really well and had a great guide. All transport was arranged and Pemba (owner) is fantastic and genuinely wants you to have the trip of a lifetime. Did EBC and 3 High Passes and it was amazing!
