Ghorepani Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp Trek Overview

The Ghorepani Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp trek is not as popular as the classic trail, but it will be the best option if you want to accomplish the ABC trek. This is an amazing journey that combines Ghorepani Poon Hill and accomplishes two separate treks in one trek.

This Trek is bounded by high mountain peaks like Him Chuli (6,441m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna (8091m), Singa Chuli (6,501m), Tent Oeak (5,663m), Annapurna (7,445m), Annapurna III (7,555M) and Machhapuchhre standing at a height of 6,993 m.

The trek offers a remarkable journey through the fascinating Annapurna region’s beauty. On this trek, you will pass through different terraced farms, alpine meadows with spectacular mountain views at a close distance, and woodland routes covered with rhododendron blossoms. Furthermore, you will even get a chance to experience the warm hospitality and culture of the local Gurung and Magar ethnic groups.

If someone wants to do something different apart from the same old trekking route, the Ghorepani Poonhill trail can be the best option for you. As the trail is not the classic way of reaching the Annapurna Base Camp, the trek will be best for you, as you can experience new things and trek through villages like Ulleri, Ghorepani, Jhinu Dada, Bamboo, and Chomrong, etc.

The trek starts with a scenic and comfortable drive to Pokhara through a tourist bus, and after the trek finishes, you will be back in Pokhara, and from there you will return to Kathmandu by flight. Eco Nepal Trekkers provides the best itinerary at the best price and focuses on everything you will need from a trekking company, which will help you trek peacefully.

Autumn is a great time of year to do the Ghorepani Poonhill and Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is the time for sunny skies and steady weather. You will be able to enjoy amazing views of the mountains. This is the busiest trekking season, so the teahouses and walking pathways will be full.

In Nepal, the monsoon season lasts from June to August. Clouds and rain are possible. The surrounding area turns green during the monsoon season when the water becomes pure. Monsoon is not the ideal season to go on the Trek, though, as excessive rain could result in landslides.

Best local trekking company in Nepal!! An increadible journey!..and the Best local company in Nepal. I did the EBC + Chola Pass + Gokyo Lakes. Pemba (owner) customised my trip and took care of everything! I had a great guide Prayash who really helped me through the trek and gave me lots of knowlege and stories of the Everest region. I have been to mountains of Europe/USA/ NZ but the raw beaty of the Himalayas is something special. The physical challenge of altitude, the tea houses, high bridge crossings, Sherpa culture and all the fellow trekkers and climbers make this trip so unique. It has been a highlight of my life and i was fortunate to go with a local company who are genuinely passionate about sharing the Himalayas with you. Also at end of trek they organised sightseeing tours. I was also able to contribute to the companies charity in a small way some by donating some stationary and sports equipment to a mountain school. If you are going to Nepal i would highly recommend Pemba and his team of guides. I will be back! Namastae

Well deserved 5 stars review for arranging our 14 days ABC Trek in November 2025. Fair price and high quality support. Great accommodations, and food throughout the journey. Most importantly, thanks Pemba for being flexible and thorough detailed organizing the trip. Special thanks to our guide Kiran and Upandra for taking care of us, and sharing knowledge of Himalayans mountains during the trek. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a hassle free Trekking in Nepal.

Fantastische Erfahrung!

Amazing trip - great local company. Everything was organised really well and had a great guide. All transport was arranged and Pemba (owner) is fantastic and genuinely wants you to have the trip of a lifetime. Did EBC and 3 High Passes and it was amazing!
