Latest Trekking Rules For Nepal: Overview

As per the Nepal Tourism Board, the new rules state that all the trekkers trekking in Nepal must obtain the TIMS Card. Solo trekking is banned in Nepal so you must hire a licensed trekking Guide with you.

This new trekking rule was effective from the date March 31, 2023. Also, the price of the TIMS card was revised. The new price for the TIMS card is NPR. 1000 for the SAARC nationals and for foreigners they need to pay NPR. 2000.

Before April 1st, 2023, it was not compulsory to obtain a TIMS Card in all trekking areas, but after the new regulations came into effect, it became mandatory to obtain one.
