I traveled with this company to make the Everest base camp and ascend the Islam peak, a serious company with one of the best customer services, attentive in everything, attentive throughout the trip, they accompanied me shopping in Kathmandu, to dinner, they showed me the most emblematic places in Kathmandu. Pemba and his father made me feel like I was part of their family, always grateful for their great work, 100% recommended, a hug to my family from Nepal.

Our guide porter on the ACT was Dil (this guy is like a mountain goat) and he was fantastic. Knew the route well and managed to keep us on track without complaint and with a smile.

Everything was well organised, from the meeting in Kathmandu, the booked flights to Pokhara, jeep to Besisahar, and the permits. Although the route is well marked and you really can’t get lost, it was good having a guide as sometimes a bridge would be down or perhaps a detour was necessary in order to avoid road works, which there were a lot. However the views, people we met, the general good feeling, made up for the aching legs and limbs at the end of the day. I’m 62 and could easily manage it with a day pack.

The food although varied and plentiful was, after 15 days of walking starting to get monotonous but the higher you go, the more it takes to get supplies up to the tea houses so its understandable. Rooms were OK but the showers were sometimes luke warm so were avoided during the last couple of days over the pass.

Getting to the pass was probably one of the hardest days we’ve ever had. However we managed just by going slow and taking our time. We started off early from Thorung Pedi, around 4am and hauled ourselves up. Once we got to the pass we took a couple of snaps, got a bit emotional and then started down to Muktinath, which, once we descended became decidedly easier.

The west part of the ATC is worth doing and not just stopping at Muktinath. We visited Marpha which was probably one of the highlights of the trail. Lovely monastery, and lots of varied food.

All in all a great time was had.
