The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is the best place to go on your trekking journey if you are new to trekking activities. The hike is not too hard nor too easy which can not be a big deal for someone with a healthy body and someone interested in hiking or trekking.
You will experience the most breathtaking views and adventure as you pass through charming villages, woods, and magnificent vistas of the Himalayas and the remote places of Langtang Valley.
The Langatang region is popular for Buddhist monasteries, traditions, and sceneries. Along the whole way there you will be able to walk through the river upstream through rhododendrons, bamboo, yak pastures, and alpine meadows.

Today, you arrive in Kathmandu. Our representatives will be present waiting for your welcome and will take you to a hotel in Thamel. Thamel is a popular tourist area and has a lot to offer to foreigners in this area. Various eateries local to cuisines of foreign counties, clubs, pubs, and trekking equipment shops are some of the examples of what you will find here.
In your free time, you should move around and experience the beautiful city with many shops, temples, and local food joints. Here is your first feel of Nepali culture before you set off for your next trip.

Proceed for an early morning drive to Syabrubesi, which is a beautiful village that has lodged in the Langtang area. Now one can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of terraced fields, beautiful green hills, and in the far distance, the Ganesh Himal range.
The drive will take you around 7-8 hours and once you get here, you will be blessed with possibly the most relaxing environment of any settlement you can imagine. Syabrubeshi is where we will be accommodating for the day after a long day of travel and a delicious dinner.

The first part of your journey features the spellbinding journey through rhododendron forests, rivers, and glaciers and the first glimpse of the snow-clad Langtang peaks and continues through the Bhotekoshi River.
Lama Hotel, which is located in the forest, can be reached after approximately 6 hours of hiking. If we are lucky enough, we can see some rare species like Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bear, etc. Take time and relax in these natural settings and later spend the night in Lama Hotel.

Today walking distance is comparatively less which leads you to Kyanjin Gompa, a place of Buddhist monastery situated in a valley of mountains. Kyanjin Gompa is also known as the oldest Gompa of the whole trail.
Along the way enjoy the scenarios of Langtang Lirung Mountain and the glaciers. Take a tour around the area, participate in cheesemaking as a demonstration at the factory, and marvel at the scenery.

It will be necessary to backtrack to Lama Hotel. The descent gives a new view of the territories you crossed, fruitful terminals, and vegetation close to the river.

Today’s trek is more than a few kilometers, through forested areas and beautiful patches of rice terrain. The path goes up to Thulo Syabru, a village situated on a hilltop that provides a close look at the towering mountains, valleys, and hilly terrain in the area. Enjoy the more close-up view of the Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal ranges along the way.
Sunset views over the peaks are best to be witnessed in the evening.
Day 08: Trekking from Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa (3,620 m/11,877 ft), 4-5 hrs

A little longer hike takes one to Shin Gompa, which has a serene environment and beautiful views.
The trial starts by ascending uphill towards Forpang Danda and Dursagang leaving the Thuli Sybaru. On the way through, there are spectacles of the Ganesh Himal range and the lower vegetation cover. Along the way, we will surely not miss out on Chandanbari which is also known as the oldest Cheese Factory in Nepal before reaching Sing Gompa.
In the evening you may excursion around the popular monasteries of Sing Gompa. And later rest for the night in a teahouse of Shin Gompa.

Higher reach for the divine holy lakes of Gosaikunda, which is religiously an important place to pray and also is a holy place for the Hindus and Buddhists.
The trek provides the hikers with stunning views of the mountains and other features on the trekking route. On arrival at Gosaikunda again, marvel at the beautiful blue-watered lakes surrounded by mountains. The Gosaikunda is an ensemble of nine other lakes and every year during Janai Purnima thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit here for a holy bath in August.
Day 10: Trekking from Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3,440 m/11,286 ft) via Lauribina Pass (4,610 m/15,125 ft), 7 hrs

On the 10th day, we will be leaving the beautiful Gosaikunda behind and heading out towards Ghopte. Today’s trek can be a bit strenuous because we will be passing through the Lauribina Pass which is at a height of 4,610 m.
Upon reaching the great Lauribina La Pass we take time to admire the heavenly views of the Himalayan ranges from here and after we slowly descend towards Phedi. We reach the Melamchi valley and also the trial will eventually take us to Surya Kunda which is a small lake before arriving at Ghopte.

After breakfast, we continue our descending journey towards Mera Kharka which will take us through the dense forest full of pine and Rhododendron before reaching Tharepati.
Tharepati is the place that separates the way of another trek called the Helambu Valley trek which we will follow because it is a relatively shorter way than the Melamchi Gaun way. Before reaching Kutumsang we will pass through the small Tibetan village called Mangengoth. Later we will be staying in a teahouse for the day in Kutumsang.
Day 12: Trekking from Kutumsang to Chisapani (2,120 m/6,955 ft), 7 hrs

On the 12th day of our journey, we continue our descending journey and reach Chisapani for today after an estimated around 7 hours. Enjoy various uphills and downhill along the dense forest of Rhododendron and reach Thorundanda.
Later we go through various villages like Chipping, Thankune Bhanjyang, and Pari Bhanjyang which are all Tibetan and Tamang villages. Later we reach Chisapani village and stay for the night here.

On day 13 our walking part of the journey ends with a last walk towards Sundarijal. Enjoy the beautiful scenarios of Mt. Gaurishankar, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Annapurna, and Langtang ranges for the last time.
It’s recommended to spend time exploring the calm and scenic nature of the area before driving back to Kathmandu. If the time permits, go out to visit more cultural attractions in the city or just take a rest. Upon reaching Sundarijal we will then drive back to Kathmandu which will only take us 1 hour. Enjoy the night and roam around the Thamel area in Kathmandu.

Your last day in Kathmandu is for you to explore the cultural heritage of this city. Tourist attractions that should be visited include Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, Boudha Stupa which is a pilgrimage site for Buddhist and Tibetan people and is also a very popular tourist area, and Pashupatinath Temple which is a huge Hindu Temple spanning over an area of 2,460,000 meter square.
Experience modern and colorful markets of the country and taste delicious food of Nepal. After a day full of exploration, you will be brought back to your hotel where you will be staying.
Day 15: Final Departure
Well, it’s the time we bid goodbyes to each other until we explore together next time. Depending on your flight timetable, make some shopping or visit some appealing, interesting places before leaving Kathmandu.

Best Time to visit Langtang Gosaikunda Trek
The best times to visit Langtang Gosainkunda are in the spring and fall for the ideal weather and temperature.
Lower elevations in the Langtang region can have daytime temperatures in the mid-to-high ranges during the spring (March to May). The weather will be colder at higher altitudes. All elevations will experience cooler nights.
The Langtang region experiences spring-like temperatures from September to November during the autumn season, with warmer temperatures at lower elevations and colder ones at higher elevations.
Regarding the weather, clear skies and comfortable warmth are found in both the spring and the autumn. The distant views of mountain giants can be seen at its top beauty.
This trek is quite possible during winter but it is challenging due to chilly temperatures. So, one must be equipped with proper clothing and gear.
However, trekking during monsoon can be a hassle. Due to frequent rain, the trekking routes are muddy and slippery. Moreover, there is a risk of flood and landslides due to heavy rain. So, monsoon is not the best time to visit the Langtang region.
Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Difficulty
