When to Visit Gokyo Lake Trek
Autumn is a great time to go trekking in the Everest region. This is because you can see the enormous mountains with amazing clarity during this time of year. On the other hand, because it’s the busiest time of year, the trail is overcrowded.
For the Gokyo Lake Trek, spring is the best season after autumn. This is a season of rebirth. The snow usually melts, the trees start to bloom, the skies are usually clear, and so on during this time of year.
Even if it’s not the best journey to Gokyo Lake in the winter, there are still plenty of opportunities to view the scenery. However, because of the cold temperature during the season, trekkers face challenges. In the highest altitudes, the overnight low can be as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
The monsoon season in Nepal coincides with the summer. As a result, one needs to be ready for frequent rainfall. The earth gets muddy and dangerous after rain. Landslides and flooding are the results of this. This makes it difficult for hikers.
Gokyo Lake Trek Difficulty
For most trekkers with a fair level of fitness and some prior trekking experience, the Gokyo Lake Trek offers a moderate level of challenge. It is critical to plan ahead and be conscious of any potential obstacles. Up to 5000 meters above sea level will be reached throughout the trek’s ascent.
Acclimatization is possible due to the slow ascent, but it’s important to recognize the signs of altitude sickness and take the appropriate safety measures. To avoid any health hazards, getting enough rest and drinking plenty of water is crucial. The trail consists of clearly marked trails with a few rough and steep sections.
With the proper equipment and tactics, walking on moraine and glacier debris can be difficult but manageable throughout some trek sections. Particularly during the winter and monsoon seasons, when it may snow or rain, the weather can change. The right attire should be packed, and you should be ready for any weather changes.
