Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara (Drive)
Pokhara – 830 m / 2,723 ft – 7 hrs
We will head early in the morning from the Gongabu bus station after having breakfast in Hotel. It will take you around 6-7 hours to reach the beautiful city of Pokhara by tourist bus. The road conditions are fine and the bus will stop in the middle of the trip for the Lunch and a short break.
The ride will be interesting as you will pass through several beautiful villages, rushing Trishuli river, farmland, terrace and forest. Then after you reach there you will check in the hotel that we have booked for you.
Later in the evening you can go for a walk in the lakeside to freshen yourself or hang out in the nice restaurant, cafe or bar to enjoy the beauty of the lake side with fun.
Day 2: Pokhara to Nayapul (Drive) to Tikhe Dhunga(Trek)
Tikhe Dhunga – 1,570 m / 5,150 ft – 6 hrs
After having a wonderful time at the lakeside today your journey starts by taking a short drive to Nayapul. It is the palace where your first trekking journey will start. The distance from Pokhara to the Naya Pool is around 58.8 km. It will take you around 1 hour and twenty minutes to reach.
Then from NayaPul you will start to trek with by following your trekking Guide. Today trek will be 4-5 hours. After passing through Birethanti, Lamdawali, Sudame and Hile you will finally reach Tikhe Dhunga to sleep overnight in the tea house.
Day 3: Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani
Ghorepani – 2,850 m / 9,350 ft – 6 hrs
After having breakfast we will set ourselves up for today’s hike. Today we will cover around 13 km in 6-7 hours. Our journey starts by climbing a 3000 steps stone staircase which will lead us to the Ulleri village.
Then from the Ulleri village we will reach the forest area. Now the trial starts to become more gentle. Walking through pastures and fields we will reach Banthanti village. Further walking and passing through Nangee thanthi we will reach Ghorepani.
In today’s trek you will start to witness the beautiful mountain view of the several peaks like Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545 ft) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m / 26,794 ft).
Note: Set an alarm for early wake for tomorrow’s sunrise view.
Day 4: Ghorepani to Tadapani (Morning hike to Poon Hill)
Tadapani – 2,700 m / 8,858 ft – 7 hrs
Today, walking early in the morning before going down, we will hike to reach Poonhill for the sunrise view. With a sip of tea you can watch the beautiful sunrise view of the mountain peak from this vintage view point.
The astonishing view of the mountain peak which include Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) will amaze you. Capture enough photos and create memories with friends and family then we will head for Breakfast in a tea house in Ghorepani.
Then refreshing early morning with the sunrise view we will start to hike towards Tadapani. After we reach Tadapani we will check into the tea house to sleep overnight in the tea house.
Day 5: Tadapani to Ghandruk
Ghandruk – 1,940 m / 6,364 ft – 3 hrs
Today’s trek will be short and easier. But we will take enough time to explore the Ghandruk village. There are many things to explore in this village. Ghandruk is one of the largest gurung villages in Annapurna region where you can enjoy the culture and traditions of the local gurung committee.
From Ghandruk you can get an excellent view of the mountain from the lodge. During the trek you can explore different mountain animals and the path covered in the rhododendron flower adds the beauty of this trek. Another best part of today’s journey is the Gurung Culture Museum.
Day 6: Ghandruk to Nayapul to Pokhara (Drive)
Pokhara – 830 m / 2,723 ft – 7 hrs
After enjoying the breakfast we will head for the Nayapull to catch the bus or jeep. Today will be the last day of trekking in the Annapurna Region. After we reach Nayapoll we will take a ride to Pokhara and spend one night once again in this beautiful city.
If you want to extend your trip it is also possible. Either you can spend some days in Pokhara or try hiking, trekking or adventurous activities also.
Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu (Drive)
Kathmandu – 1,300 m / 4,265 ft – 8 hrs
We will come to pick you early in the morning as you will be leaving pokhara. With all the beautiful memories that you made on the trip and saying goodbye to the mountains we will get back to the city.

If you’re thinking of exploring the Ghorepani Poon hill trek, searching for the suitable time to visit is the best time to visit during spring and autumn seasons. During spring and the autumn season the weather remains stable, temperature is moderate and clear view of the sky. Trekkers can get the best view of the stunning mountains.
Though it is possible to trek in other seasons like winter and the summer there might be some difficulties like extreme cold and rainfall. Due to cold and chances of fog in the winter season you cannot get the perfect view all the time. But if the weather is clear then it might not be a problem but you need to make sure to have proper clothing.
Usually in the summer the chances of rainfall are high and the trail path is covered with water and trekkers can find difficulty walking due to slippery and muddy trail paths. Therefore it is best to travel during the month of spring and autumn seasons.

All the travelers entering Nepal must have the travel visa except for the indians. Foreigners can get an arrival visa from the airport from the office of immigration. The cost of the visa depends upon the number of days that you will spend here in Nepal.

Required Permit For Poon Hill Trek
In total you need to have two permits for this Ghorepani poon hill trek. Annapurna Conservation Permit (ACAP) and Trekkers Information Management Systems (TIMS) Permit.
- Cost of ACAP is Npr. 3000 per person
- Cost of Tims Card is Npr. 2000 per person
Note: As per the new rule you cannot get the Tims card on your own and you need to go through the registered trekking agency to get the TIMS CARD. Therefore let us handle all the permits of Poonhill for you.
Drinking Water, Electricity and Wifi
Almost all of the teahouses and guest houses are equipped with the facility of electricity and wifi. You can connect wifi and charge your electric device by paying little extra amount. Also you can get the hot shower facilities for this also you might need to pay extra charge.
There are several tap water and other sources of natural water you can find on the route while trekking to the poohill. You can use it by refilling your water bottle. Make sure to use the water purification table which you can easily buy in the medical store or shops.
Also tea houses sell drinking water bottles. You can buy from the tea house but the cost of a water bottle might be a little higher in the high altitude areas due to transportation problems.
